***Warning*** Rub on foils are EXTREMELY addictive!***
Fast, easy, and shiny! No other technique can compare.
Use with Sticky Powder, glue pen, double stick tape, Stamp and Stick glue pad, or any dry adhesive. Rub on foils give a bright, shiny, metallic finish to your project.

To use with Quickie Glue Pen:

I found this wonderful 12" x 12" paper at our local scrapbook store. I fell in love with the holiday theme, but thought overall it lacked pizzaz. I decided to add some silver highlights.

The BEST pen to work with is the Quickie Glue Pen -- it is is odor- free, shake-free, squeeze-free, will not dry out and has a very long shelf life. With it, you can add a fine line of glue with the writing ease of a ballpoint pen. Not only does this glue work perfectly with our Bling Bling rub on foils and metal flakes, but it also works exceptionaly well with glitters, embossing powders and our metallic powders.

Apply the glue where you want to add some highlights. The glue will go on blue and will dry clear. Wait until the glue is completely dry before applying the foil or it may smear. When dry, the glue will remain tacky.

Once dry, lay the foil over the glue.

Rub gently with your fingers so the foil comes in contact with the glue.

Start with one corner and peel off the foil.

We love how the holographic Silver Fire foil reflects the light!

If you missed a spot, lay the foil over the sticky spot, press with your fingertip, and remove.

It took me about 15 minutes start to finish to add silver highlights to the entire page. Waiting for the glue to dry is the hardest part!

To use with Sticky Powder:

1. Stamp your design with any embossable ink. You may use an embossing pad, VersaMark or any wet pigment pad. See below for some extra tips on using Sticky Powder.

2. Sprinkle Sticky Powder onto the stamped design and pour excess Sticky Powder back into the container.

3. Tap off any excess and wipe off stray powder before heating.

4. Use an embossing gun or heat tool to melt the Sticky Powder. It is very important not to overheat the Sticky Powder. You want to melt the powder just until it turns shiny and then remove heat. If you overheat the Sticky Powder, it will "dry out" and not be sticky.

5. Once powder is melted, it should be sticky and ready to apply the Bling Bling Rub on Foil. Place the foil sheet on the sticky image - COLOR OR SHINY SIDE UP!! -and rub FIRMLY or press with your finger. When rubbing, make sure to press the foil on the entire image.

6. On the HOLOGRAPHIC foils - it is harder to get a "clean pull" when pulling off the foil. If you are having problems - here is a soloution: After step 5 above (rubbing) - heat for about 2 seconds with your heat gun (NOT TOO CLOSE) and then rub again. Let it cool for a few seconds before next.

7. Remove the foil sheet QUICKLY and foil should have now transferred to the Sticky Powder. If there are still areas on the image that are missing foil, replace the foil sheet, making sure that there is still foil in the area you are trying to get color; press again and remove.

To use foiling glue:

1. Apply Foiling Glue and let dry 1-3 hours so that you can press on the clue and it not smear. You can even wait overnight and the glue will be completely dry and clear - it will still be tacky. If using holographic foil - follow the steps above.

Also works with tapes!!

Extra tips:

On the
HOLOGRAPHIC foils indicated above (*) - it is harder to get a "clean pull" when pulling off the foil. If you are having problems - here is a soloution: After step 5 above (rubbing) - heat for about 2 seconds with your heat gun (NOT TOO CLOSE) and then rub again. Let it cool for a few seconds before next.

Remove the foil sheet QUICKLY and foil should have now transferred to the Sticky Powder. If there are still areas on the image that are missing foil, replace the foil sheet, making sure that there is still foil in the area you are trying to get color; press again and remove.

One suggestion on using STICKY POWDER - use a colored pigment ink - especially when using a white or light paper. This will make it easier to see the Sticky Powder change when you heat it and you will be less likely to overheat it. If you over heat the Sticky Powder - it WILL NOT be sticky!! Heat until it just turns shiny!

The foil sheet can be used until all the color is gone from the mylar backing.
