| Instructions: Stamp LUKE 24 BACKGROUND stamp on a 1/4 sheet of white cardstock using a lavender stamp pad. After it dries, stamp LUKE 24:5-6 directly on top using an eggplant stamp pad. Cut off any excess white paper past the background image so that the words go right to the edge of the paper. Cut a piece of periwinkle cardstock slightly larger than the white cardstock, and cut a piece of gold moire cardstock slightly larger than the periwinkle cardstock. Layer and glue with moire on bottom, then periwinkle, and the white stamped piece on top. In determining the size of the card itself, just measure the front dimensions you desire, double the width and fold in half. Glue all cardstock layers to the card itself.
Stamp cross four times: twice on periwinkle cardstock (just the cloth portion of the image is needed), once on tan cardstock (just the crown of thorns is needed), and once on gold moire cardstock. Emboss each with detail gold embossing powder. On one piece of periwinkle, cut out the front drape portion of the cloth close to the embossing powder. On the second piece of periwinkle, cut out the back portions of the cloth. (Note: On the inside edges of the draped cloth -- those closest to the cross -- continue to cut in that direction up to the cross bar. This is because you will see some of the back pieces when all pieces are layered.) On the tan cardstock, cut out the crown of thorns in a complete circle, continuing the circle through the part that shows the cross, coloring with brown marker. On the gold moire cardstock, cut out the cross. Using a good glue, attach only the front drape piece on top of the cross (save the back pieces for the final step). Drape the crown of thorns over the top of the cross, matching the cross markings with the crown when it lays behind the cross. Place foam tape behind the cross, crown and drape. Plan where you want the cross placed on the piece stamped with the background stamp. You can stamp it lightly in lavender to help with placement. Glue the back portions of the periwinkle drape directly on the paper, matching placement with the lightly stamped impression. Place the cross on top, matching the placement and covering the stamped impression. |
