Shadow/Reversing Stamps are a “must have” for both rubber stampers and scrapbookers! You will be amazed with all you can do with these stamps - and wonder what you ever did without one!
To make beautiful and simple effects, use a hard felt ink pad and ink up the shadow stamp. Stamp on your paper. This makes a light shadow block that you can stamp over. Use markers in coordinating colors to ink your image stamp. Stamp on top of background block. These blocks are solid with straight edges in various squares and rectangles
Below are some very quick and easy samples done with shadow stamps.
This is the 3 1/8” by 3 1/8” shadow/reversing stamp using a Sea Shells stamp pad by Ranger. Before stamping, draw around the edge using a darker Marvy marker. Stamp. We colored #7088T Morning Glory with Marvy markers and stamped on top of the shadow block.
This is done the same way as above with the same size shadow stamp. Then we used #765T Baby's Breath for the inside.
This is using the 1 1/4” by 1 3/8” shadow stamp and a Denim Adirondack felt pad by Ranger. Every place the stamp overlaps, a darker shade appears. The other stamps used were #310T Dove and #603T Cloud cut out and pasted on top of the background.
This sample uses the 3 1/8 by 3 1/8 just as one light backgound to define a space on the card. We used Sea Shells Ranger pad to get the light shading. The other stamps used are #91T Small Rose and #6106T - Eph. 5:31.
We cut out a heart shape to use as a mask. Using the smaller square shadow stamp and a Sea Brite pad from Ranger, we stamped the entire card, overlaping the shadow stamp. The middle was stamped with #185T Small Rose and then the two glasses were added - #’s 452T & 451T.
Same as above but using a Adirondack felt pad from Ranger and an oval mask. Other stamp used was #612T Flower Cluster. “Thank you” was hand printed around the oval.
Same again with a Sea Shell lighter pad. Stamp #6101T Welcome Little One was stamped on white card stock, cut out and pasted on top. The whole card was them pasted on blue cardstock.
The 2 1/8 by 2 1/4 shadow stamp was used on glossy white stock with a Sea Shells pad by Ranger. Stamp #6091T Bouquet was stamped and embossed in black and then colored in with Marvy markers.
