binders & mixing mediums
These supplies are not yet available.
What a wonderful discovery --- a powdered binder!!
Mix this binder with any metallic, mica or pigment powder and create a dry watercolor paint. Just add water!

Mix 80% binder with 20% of your favorite powder or dust
(four parts binder to one part powder). Add water. Paint!
The thinner you make the paint, the more it will resemble watercolor.

Using Binder with colored powder
Items we used:
Bling Bling Metallic Collection
Plastic Lid
Binder
Spoon
Paint Brush
Water
To make pigment, mica, or metallic powders into paint, mix 80% Binder and 20% powder (this is equal to 1 part powder and 4 parts Binder) .

Spoon out some Binder. Place in empty plastic lid or other container.
Estimate one-fourth the amount of powder as you have Binder.

The less powder you use, the more your paint will resemble watercolor.

If you want a paint with solid coverage, try mixing equal parts of Binder and powder.
Add powder in with the Binder.
Add water and mix well.

If you are using a very little amount of Binder and powder, dip your brush in water and stir the mixture. For the amount we used, we added two spoonfuls of water.

Paint should be smooth.
It is very easy to add more powder or binder to adjust the characteristics of the paint.

Have fun!!

Clean up with water.
You can store extra paint in a closed plastic container. If you allow the paint to air dry, use like you would a watercolor disk. Dampen your paint brush with water, rub on the disk to moisten the paint and pick up the desired amount of paint.
Using Mixing Medium with colored powder
Use the Mixing Mediums on surfaces that require an acrylic paint.
With our metallic Bling Bling Metallic Dusts, it doesn't make a difference if we use the Matte or Gloss finish. With the mica sets (the interference colors), we prefer the Gloss.
For small areas, wet the brush with the Mixing Medium, dip brush in the colored powder, mix in a shallow plastic dish (cd's work great to mix on!).

For larger areas, place colored powder and Mixing Medium in a plastic container. Mix well.
Test on a scrap piece to make sure you have the desired amount of color. Add more Mixing Medium or colored powder as desired.
