Supplies:
Stamp 1469V (Partridge in a Pear Tree)
Acetate Sheets - also called transparency film for copiers - or vellum
Glass Paints (I use Vitrea 160 Glass Paints by Pebeo) - or markers
Cardstock: dark red and white with gold flecks,
Staz-On Black stamp pad
Rubber Cement
Adhesive Tape
Temporary Adhesive Tape
INSTRUCTIONS:
Stamp 4 images of stamp #1469V using Staz-On permanent ink stamp pad on acetate. Let dry.
Turn over and paint each of the 4 stamped images on the back using glass paints. Make sure one color is dry before painting another color next to it. Let dry, paint side up.
Cut out 4 pieces of dark red cardstock 5 1/2" x 5 3/4", and 4 pieces of gold-flecked paper 5"x5 3/4". Score the red cardstock so that the finished frame is 5" x5 33/4". Using temporary adhesive tape, attach a gold-flecked card to the red cardstock, always leaving the scored edge on the right. Cut out the centers using an x-acto© knife, leaving a 1/2" border on all but the scored side, which will have a 1" border. The opening should measure 4" x4 3/4".
Cut each *stained glass* image within 1/4" of the letters. This is the edge that will be used to attach the acetate to the frame. Using rubber cement, attach the acetate to the inside of the red frame with the stamped side(NOT painted side) out. Put rubber cement on the gold flecked frame and attach on top of the acetate to sandwich it in the middle. Make sure that the scored edge is on the right side of each frame. When all four sides are complete, run a piece of permanent adhesive on the outside scored edge, and attach it to the inside of the next panel. Keep attaching the scored edges until they are all attached and the luminary is complete!
Put a small votive candle in the middle and light.
